We visited the Rice Village location for dinner and had a great experience. There is street parking available, as well as a nearby parking garage, which made parking convenient. The ambiance was quiet and pleasant- a very relaxing dining atmosphere. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly throughout our visit. We started with the Super Cyclone and Ocean Blue drinks, and both were excellent. For the main course, we ordered the Enchilada Anaya’s, Pollo en Mole, Fajita Chicken, Blackened Mahi, and Cyclone’s Tacos. Each dish was flavorful and well prepared. Our server was attentive and helpful. Overall, it was a nice dining experience, and I will definitely be visiting again.

We visited Cyclone Anaya's in Rice Village on a quiet afternoon during spring break. We were among the only customers inside, with just a couple of guests sitting in the patio. Despite the slow pace, the experience was a mixed bag.
The atmosphere was disrupted by the waitstaff talking loudly to each other across the restaurant, which made for a less-than-relaxing meal. At one point, they were even talking loudly over one of our drinks, which felt unprofessional. Unfortunately, much of our order was placed incorrectly and had to be corrected.
As for the food, it was hit or miss. The beef fajita tacos were lukewarm and rubbery, lacking flavor, while some of the other items came out hot and fresh. Overall, the food was just okay—not terrible, but nothing memorable.
On the bright side, we really enjoyed the Botana Platter appetizer, especially the nachos, empanadas, and quesadillas. My kids liked their meals, particularly the chicken tenders and sliders, and I have to say the Titanium Margarita was excellent.
We debated between going with our tried-and-true favorite, Pappasito's Cantina, or giving Cyclone Anaya's another shot after not visiting since the Midtown days. We chose Cyclone's based on the good Google reviews, but honestly, I’m not sure we’d rush back to this location anytime soon.

My wife met some coworkers here after work, she asked if I wanted anything, I ordered fajita tacos and a burrito, just basic stuff, I've had better at the worst taco truck in Houston. I cant believe this place has 5 stars, I took the 3 tacos and dumped them into the burrito. Everything was skimpy. Definitely don't get a to go order, they skimp.

My 10yr old daughter and I came in to celebrate her 23 awards she received at her 4th grade awards ceremony. Our waiter, Jalen, was very knowledgeable about the items on the menu. As someone who used to work in the food service industry, I believe waiters/waitresses should know the menu and have eaten there. He made it really easy for me to choose since I already had some sort of idea as to what I wanted to eat. He was very kind and he was very tentative. Sometimes waiters/waitresses will be less tentative when they’re not busy. Jalen was awesome and even treated my daughter to a dessert for her 23 awards! I look forward to having Jalen as a server in the future!

Came here for date night and Jalen was AMAZING! Attentive but not bothersome, and extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Strongly suggested the brussel sprouts and they were 10/10!! We will request Jalen every time and so should you! Oh, and the fajitas and margaritas were great also. More

The food here was really good and the service was okay, so I was initially happy with our visit. However, the restroom situation was very disappointing.
There was only one changing table, located in the women’s restroom, and the stall that contained it was out of service because the toilet was broken. Unfortunately, the toilet was also extremely dirty, which made the space unusable and unsanitary for changing a baby.
When I informed staff, I was told management said they did not have the funds to fix the toilet. Regardless of repair timelines, basic cleanliness is essential — especially in restrooms used by families.
I ended up having to change my baby in his stroller on the patio because our car was far away. I hope management addresses both the maintenance and cleanliness issues, as the food itself was very good. They initially served my son very dry chicken, but they corrected it promptly and the replacement was juicy and well prepared.

Cyclone Anaya
I’ve always liked Cyclone Anaya (Rice Village) and I’ve hosted my annual Galentine’s event here for the third year, plus dined here several other times. The food and brunch are usually solid, but my experience on Feb 8, 2026 was uncomfortable and disappointing due to how management handled a major issue, and I will not be returning.
Here’s what happened: during our event, multiple guests ordered the mimosa special (first mimosa + penny refills). After everyone received their first drink, we were told the restaurant was out of champagne, so they could not honor the refills that guests had paid for. That’s a problem. If you don’t have the product needed to fulfill a promotion, you should not continue taking orders for it. At minimum, management should have immediately communicated it and offered alternatives (like margaritas) before charging people.
Only after guests questioned how the special could be honored did the manager start saying the restaurant didn’t prepare because the reservation “wasn’t confirmed.” That was untrue and the manager tried to ruin my integrity as the host and the ladies group I curate by this false narrative. I booked the private room for 20 on Dec 31 and confirmed the day before as I was recommended to do at the time of booking (Feb 7) with the correct guest count, and we discussed details like table setup and my arrival time. When the manager claimed she had called me multiple times and left voicemails, I showed my call log and voicemail in real time. I showed here there were no missed calls and no voicemails from the restaurant. Also, staff clearly knew we had an event, nobody was surprised we arrived at 12:30pm.
As the host, I also purchased shareable appetizers and three carafes, and guests ordered food and drinks individually, so this was not about us trying to “get over” or avoid spending money. We simply expected to receive what was advertised and what people paid for. If champagne truly ran out, that should have been addressed responsibly (including restocking or offering a fair substitute) instead of shifting the blame to a “non-confirmed” reservation.
I hate leaving this review because I’ve had good experiences here before, but the lack of honesty and professionalism from management ruined an event I’ve successfully hosted here multiple years. I was told they discounted the bill and again that wasn't wanted, I am about integrity and for management to blame me for not having Champagne is unacceptable.
